The picture shows a famine stricken child crawling towards an United Nations food camp, located a kilometer away.
The vulture is waiting for the child to die so that it can eat it. This picture shocked the whole world. No one knows what happened to the child, including the photographer Kevin Carter who left the place as soon as the photograph was taken.
Three months later he committed suicide due to depression.

its the photographer who commit suicide. this pic he took won the 1994 pulitzer prize award.

The child died, the photographer commited suicide.
But the photographer didn commit suicide just cos he saw the sad sight... He was a veteran photographer that saw many of these things b4. Apparently, he was also on drugs and in debt.
Without discrediting the photographer, the photo showed the world pretty much what really is happening to less fortunate people groups elsewhere on this globe.
It is a shame, that after winning the pulitzer award for that shot, there were elaborate parties thrown to celebrate the "glam" and "fame", but little done for the famine ongoing. -

I can somewhat agree with u. Actually, current world production of food is sufficient for everyone. But it is because some bastards keeps a large pile in the storeroom, there is not enough to go around. Also, corruption in such poverty stricken countries is quite rampant. just a thought: people are starving to death and dying of diseases while on the other hand, people are amassing their wealth for heaven knows what.
