SAP is probably the best ERP systems in the world.....most of Fortune 500
companies use it.
Of course in the wrong hands...can be quite a white elephant.
HaHaHa.....so what is good, Accpac?? -

I am using it now
the flexibility of the software is very suitable for most companies i would say
but it's really damn expensive -

The price alone will put a lot of small companies off. So that is why some posters say SAP are meant for global enterprise company worldwide cuz the global usage will justify the cost invested.
In local Spore usage, it is just too expensive to use SAP. Are ppl trying to say without SAP, there are no other alternatives? Are SAP trying to force the whole world to only use their software exclusively? A-la M$ marketing strategy on it's OS?
Nay.... I feel money muz be well spent and not spent on something branded juz becuz it sounds world class. Now I tink my tax money is used to pay for some of SAP licensing cost? Liao chor leh -
A global rollout for SAP will cost at least US$50mil upwards, fully justified if you
are a billion $ turnover company.
Nobody can force you to use SAP, people use SAP beacuse it's good and
efficient. Make no mistake, I uses SAP on a daily basis and must say it's worth
every single cent my coy has spent on it, that's because it's implemented properly and user training was extensive, only then can it's potential be fully
realised.
There is one other alternative, Oracle, which is slightly more affordable whereas JD Ewards and Great Plains( from MS) are just not up to it. -

Well the same argument is used by ppl who uses M$ Window OS. But is it true that it is good and efficient and hence a lot of ppl uses it? Think more into what I am trying to say -

i think scalability and flexibility are the key components that big global companies are looking for. and SAP is the right one.
Quite a while ago, our local SP Services has a big problem with their billing system. They send extraordinary high bills to ask ppl pay money. Was the system generated using SAP? I heard they need bring in overseas EXPENSIVE consultants to fix the problem. Wonder if it is due to SAP customisation that causes that BIG blunder then? Wonder how much it cost to rectify the problem -

well, this is human issue not the software issue...
the SAP consultants were the laughing stocks for the entire SAP industry...
anyway, don't have good impression on Accenture.. heard that they also got issues in SIA.
anyway, the key is that SIA, SP are not big companies.. they try to cut corner e.g. training, testing etc.. then die lor.. -
