Technology - Friend or Foe

Humans invented something which will harm/destroy/kill us - Technology.
Think about it.
You'll know why I said that. (eg: internet, mobile phones, computers)
So are they our friends or foes? Will they stay that way everntually, or turn their backs against us?

Technology itself is useless without human brains behind it. At the end of the day, human beings are the scarier ones.

its a waste of time honestly.
my teacher once said this: think of yourself on the deathbed. are you going to say "damn i wish i had spent more time on the computer playing games/going on MSN... or are you going to say "damn, i wish i had spent more time with my friends/family, travelling..."
and you know what...after using the computer to type out practically all my assignments for the past two years, i realize my spelling sucks like hell cos ive been using MS word and there's that spell check thing which i have obviously taken for granted and have been abusing it.
so there.

When there's good, there's bad. And it depends on whether you use technology for the good, or you abuse it for the bad. Nothing in life is ever a sword that points in one direction.

Technology and science increases our standard of living but increase individual's emptiness.
I had raised about the blogging issue already, but none are concern. Privacy meter starts to decrease, with nowadays technology, nothing seemed impossible to find out.
Look at medical science, in the nature law, the more you trying to control something, the more it will gone awry. We have medicines and vitamins to keep us kicking, but cancel and unknown disease increase at the same time, which means technology actually mutates us.
Myopia is another huge issue because of technology.
We are in the stages where everything is researched in details and things is keep getting invented. Even God is deeply researched by some scientist, results is not definate but the religious, faith, system that bound us in one piece starts to breaks. Human therefore become logical but empty shell. The emptiness and loniess will hence evolves into mental disorderness.
I won't be surprise when one day machine totally replace over human. Artificial Intelligence is patching to become clever nowadays. I see the threat but many doesn't.
Technology that do something beyond human reach is our friend, eg. planes.
Technology that keep us lazy and developed into an liablity is our foe, eg. coffee brewer (can't you brew yourself?) -

Besides, we need techology. We are living of a piece of rock in space that we can't leave. If we can't find the technology that allows us to live with minimum resource consumption, we'll be doom by 2200. -

I believe it all boils down to how we manipulate it. Of course, there's always the unavoidable inappropriate application of it. When there's a USE, there's always ABUSE.
All I can say is technology is a double edged sword. It has so much promise, yet can also yield a new age of darkness.

Technology is knowledge. Like all knowledge, it can be used for good or bad. We are the ones who decide how and which.

Technology does not have a life on its own. Its only sort of a tool.
There are many scary things in this world, but at the end of the day, the worst is human ourselves.
When used wisely, technology can save thousands of thousands of lives and creat great convenience. However, all of the bad examples of usage of tech are dued to misuse on the human part.
A fatal virus attack can cause millions of loss in dollars, but human are those who wrote the virus program.
Just 1 atomic bomb and an entire island is gone, but who drop it in the first place?
Vehicles are invented for easy travel. But unlimited and unconsicious over-use on the human part had greatly upset our environment.
Its human nature to find faults in everything. It is also human nature to push blames. But is it sensible to blame something that does not have a life on its own and was invented by human in the first place?
Technology can be both a friend and a foe, and its all up to the intelligent minds of this universal to decide which one it will be.
