We should not pay at all !! We pay for the tv, then the electricity, had to watch the advertisment, some of them real stupid and most of the movie screen are repeat ..... I hardly watch the programmes in recent years ....

My gripe is why pay to indoctrinate ourselves with propaganda?
Why pay for subpar TV programs?
Why have non-Singaporean TV with all the emphasis on non-English programming support when we should be creating a Singaporean identity and primary language for Singaporeans?
If the TV channels are commercial entities - then they ought to cost-recover from their audience through advertising. -

The UK has a similar scheme. The license fees there are higher than the cost of buying a 14-inch colour TV.
