Anyone ordered DVDs from abroad before?

I ordered a decent DVD from amazon a month ago.The estimated arrival according to amazon is 1 June 2006.I have checked the amazon "track package" option and it says the parcel reached Singapore on 25 May.
So what has happened to my DVD? Do DVDs bought from overseas have to go through censors? If so,how come the censors are taking so long...

haha...and you have to pay the censors for censoring your dvd...they charge according to the length of the film. If they find anything offensive, you will go to jail

mine had stickers from the censor board...or issit customs....emm...cant really remember liao...
how long the censors take depends on what kind of DVD U buy lor...
U can just email amazon and see what they tell U lor... -

I order afew before, and will not do it again...
1) Choose the normal/cheapers air delivery package... the express air freight gig is bogus, it will arrive about the same time as normal frieght.... bloody fvck.
2) DVD cannot be censored.... add $50+ dollars for this unwanted service.
3) Some Mechant will volunteerily package your dvd with fillings and classify them as something else, and got thru custom.... suceeded once...
Others will just dump your DVD into a envolope with your disc outline prominently... and idiot will know it's a DVD/VCD.... -

You can get together with some friends to order together and share out the freight costs. It should be cheaper this way. Some people on the Mindef intranet forums do that. I don't know about censorship though.

The censorship board will do censor before sending it to you. But you're required to pay a fee.

Its a B grade drama serial "She Spies" which was shown on Ch 5 a few years ago.
I bought it because my fav blondie Natasha Henstridge is in it. -

tcs/mediacorp has their own censorship standard...what U seen on tv might not be the one coming into singapore...and the censors might not be very happy to see the full version go thru... -
My DVD finally arrived today.I paid the postman $1.80 for the censorship fee.Took them almost a month to watch the whole thing...
