I saw my area, have an increasing of ah beng wannebes.. made up of teens..
what about your area? a lot or none? -
my area got the old timer bengs sitting ard coffeshop. but they are nice ppl. know them long enough and u see them smiling to old folks and lil kids. some even help out grannies carrying groceries...very impress by them.

Some ah beng you see look like typical ah beng outside, but when they speak, they speak more eloquent english than the CNA newscasters.

Sometime hard to judge others by appearance... Many years ago, I read a Zhao Bao forum report, that forum writer was walking behind someone who looks like your typical ah Beng... long hair, unkempt, walks with an exaggerated swagger, the works etc etc
Just when the writer thinks to himself :"What a piece of human garbage that Beng is.... how is it a country like SG can still produce people like that..?", an elderly man walking towards the Beng slipped and fell.
To that writer's utmost surprise, the Beng sprang to action and helped the old man up, enquired about his wellbeing and then check if the old man has any injuries. The Beng then asked where the old man is going, hailed a taxi, helped the old man into the cab, and then handed the taxi driver a $10 dollar note!
Singapore could do with a few more "Ah Bengs" like that......

Actually, some of the so-called "educated" guys my age(17), think its a hoot to dye their hair blonde and do the beng thing.
I think its fine lah, everybody grws up one day.
