Flash Drive Problem

In a hurry, i pluck out my flash drive without safety removing it. Now the information inside are all lost and i'm trying to reformat it but without any success.
Problem : The computer will hang there and there would not be any respond during the process of reformatting. FAT32 was use to reformat it -
When you plug in, does the LED light lights up? If it does not, it's dead. You can't even get the computer to read it.

If you can't reformat, try copying some files there. If it still hang, then it's dead, although your computer is able to detect it and your MP3 says it's ready for use. -

FireWire ports transfer files faster leh ...

based on my experiment u'll have lost free space (or worse, data loss) and u could only backup the remaining stuff and format it again.
