singapore tap water not necessarily safe to drink

Actuall it don't bothers me in any way...i drink blood so the only use of water to me is i admire the moonlight reflection off the lake's surface

Fluoride to help fight tooth decay. Chlorine to kill bacteria.
I still don't see any hard evidence that normal fluoride concentrations in water can actually harm people. Dental fluorosis only occurs in large concentrations of fluoride which our water will never have. If we should ban fluoride from our water, then I suppose we have to ban fluoridated toothpastes as well. After all, it doesn't take much for all those supposedly harmful fluoride ions to be absorbed sublingually.
It's just like adding chlorine to our water or iodine to our salt. In large doses such substances will of course be harmful. So long as there's careful management of the fluoridation process, I don't see any reason for it to be stopped. -

i dun know about tap water but if really not safe to drink then i am sure PUB will issue warning rite? there should be a safe amount to add per unit volume of water and i am sure PUB's using the safe amount lah....if recent research that has been recognized worldwide states otherwise then i am sure PUB should be quick to pick it up and act on the situation. If we need to add more to preserve the water qualities then we do but it should fall to acceptable level. the spec can change and be revised to balance betweeen health for water intake on the human body and acceptable levels.
if sceptic theh buy drink cook with mineral water loh...shower wash cloth use tap water loh -

I think the thread starter can actually write in to PUB with all the queries and information and facts he / she has on whatever chemicals used on our water treatment plants being harmful to humans (esp Singaporeans).
mayb PUB will heed his advice and issue a warning so that tour water is not kiing us by the minute. -
ya lor.. shld assure us that it is safe and it had done tests on it.
