what are your usage for PDA

i now use notebook (laptop) for appts and jot notes......
i have the "post-it notes" on my desktop
there are web-based bday reminders and calendar (gmail have)
if toking about on the road then i jus use hp or memory lah -

and just store them for reading anytime. Yeah sure they don't have.. stuff like Da Vinci Code.. but they have a lot of good older books there too like Agatha Christie and all that still makes good reading when u are bored on the plane or train! -

but i wan keep encyclopedia or dictionary in it. and textbooks kind. not easy to convert, alot of formatting issues.

I tihnk there is a downloadable dictionary. I have one in my PDA, pretty good. Think I dl from project gutenberg website.
Ya.. i hope to convert info on local flora fauna into the pda for easy reference.... can't lug books around all the time! -

seen it happen to my then-gf...I think Palm V...got it repaired...then the charger died...after that leave to collect dust...dun see the point in replacing it...somemore the charger quite expensive from the authorized dealer...so switched back to pen and paper.

I use mine mainly to keep track of appointments and things to do. Also to experiment, coz the OS is WM5, so I keep tweaking and editing the registry etc...

My wife has a Palm, it is like you've said, consigned to dust collecting, simply because she found it too technical to use. Some people just aren't cut out to use tech devices. Not that they are poor in character, in fact some do better with pen and paper diaries.
Forgetful people like me, a PDA with lots of beeps and bleeps, keeps things in my very short term memory. Or maybe it's over-crowded memory.
I back up my PDA every 2 weeks, so even if it gets stolen, smashed, or just simply dies on me, I just need pick up a new one and slot in the memory card and I'm back on my toes!

HP6828. I can do everything with it.
Watch movies - I got the entire Season 1 and 2 of Boston Legal in .mp4 format for me to watch.
Phone - of course use a phone la.
Notes - quickie jot down of notes. Or can even record voice notes.
Email - i can access all my mail - hotmail, private mail and work mail. sometimes boss got urgent email can check on the fly.
SMS - like phone la.
Surf net - quite often, I'm waiting for my wife at home to get ready. Rather than fire up notebook/computer, I just take out my device and get the WiFi on for some quikie surfing.
Mp3 - listening to music while traveling is entertaining too.
Calendar/appointments - my work involves alot of appointments and meeting people, so it is extremely convenient.
Contacts - I got all my personal and business contacts, so if I ever leave this job, I can immediately take everything with me. Convenient to store all ALL your contacts.
Camera - got camera, but I almost seldom use.
Games - there are alot of games, but I dun play em.
Books - i download classics to read, sometimes read a chapter here and there.
So I have come to rely on this device quite a bit. -

i wish if they could archive the whole of wiki into a mobile device or something. then anything also have hands-on info.
