  $50 per unit, mine is 3+1 unit, so me paid $200 per servicing...

  blower unit and compressor, below $40 per unit for general cleaning
  usually can negotiate if you do more units.
  chemical wash is another story.
  
  I service my own blower units by dismantling the outer plastic cover till I can access the fans, use a hard brush to remove the accumulated dirt at the fan.
  
  If you have a wet vacuum cleaner you should clear the water outlet too. I use an old dry vacuum, remove the dust bag and suck the water outlet. Do this periodically (say once every 3 months if you use the AC regularly).
  
  For now, pay for the service and watch the uncle clean the aircon, noting what he removes. Will save you tons of money and time.
  
  .... the compressor unit is another matter. Outside the window, I won't attempt to do any maintenance other than removing the dirt stuck at the louvres. The AC guy recommends a long water hose and spray DOWNwards at the louvres during rainy weather. I found that my son's super soakers work just as well.

  Top up gas is provided you have that gas meant for air con! Those blower etc and suck up the outlet pipe of cuz we can do. If only outside got sell that gas then we can do ourselves

  Agree got small and big companies... some even is 1 man show also have. But I prefer got a bit of name company so the after service is of certain standard. Usually take package will be cheaper like say twice a year servicing. If you long time customer, sometimes top up gas they can even absorb or free spray anti-bacterial solution. Average is abt $40+ per unit.
  
  If your house only 1 unit air con very lugi cuz they go your house they expect earn a certain amount of money. So 1 unit is $60 and above cuz they waste time and effort (petrol fees etc) to do only 1 unit

  If you do once in 1-2 years, the service air con company long time then can earn your money so if you call them they will charge more. For one time off servicing average abt $50 onwards for 1 unit but if you only got 1 or 2 they may quote $60 onwards
