Singnet Broadband test!

  Hi All, if you are using Singnet DSL, please test your speed, my connection is supposed to be 1500kbs, but a speed test in Cnet and other shows 300 to 430 kbs only! Let me know ok? thanks

  sometimes such internet speed testing is not accurate as they are not local sites, and the traffic of tat websites might affect the reading of speed..

  If you really want to check, try using BT.
  First, you go bt sites and find some popular files with many seeds/user, if you choose those with a few seeds/user, it's hard to go to the max possible speed.
  When you add the download job, choose not to start downloading immediately.
  Get ready about 10-20 popular files with many seed/users, then start them all together.
  Wait for a while to let each job to connect to tracker servers, slowly you should reach the maxium speed you can get.

  I had heard this method from singnet customer service of testing yur internet speed... u try download something from a local website, like from NTU website, notice the transfer rate, for example, 56kb/sec, u multiply it by 8, den uwill get yur actual surfing/downloading speed.. of course, depends on website traffic..

  I'm using 512. Tested it before at CNET's website. It's around 500 for global websites. Local ones they can't test.

  if its possible...it would be a good idea: misleading of the uninformed customers...paying so much yet not getting as much as we shld...
  
  not to mention singnet customers always get cut off their line when someone calls in their house phone...
