Y R THERE SO MANY INCOSIDERATE PEOPLE IN BUS?

LIKE THEY DUN WANT TO MOVE INSIDE TOWARDS THE END OF BUS WHEN THEY CAN OBVIOUSLY SEE THE BUS IS CROWDED
OLD MAN/LADY WITH WALKING PROBLEMS/CARRY CHILD/ CARRY ALOT OF GROCERIES, AND NO 1 BOTHERS TO LOOK AT THEM AND GAVE UP THEIR SEAT FOR THEM -

The mentality is; if one passenger wants to get down in just about 2 or 3 stops, then he or she will position himself/herself near as possible to the exit door. So, as such, if 2 or 3 more passengers behind her boarding the bus who also intends to alight 2 or 3 stops later, they will all end up near the exit door.
Why do people do this? Because they fear that the bus driver will not wait for them to come to the exit door and drive off! This is just one example of the causes, why people refused to move to the back. Of course, some are just plain selfish and inconsiderate, they only care about their own convenience.
But hey, this is SIngapore! What's new man?? -

how come i seem to hear so many ppl complainin abt the lack of courtesy of singaporeans.. yet all these r still happening in every part of e island??

Seriously, i think that old people are the cause, if they got a 2 person seat, they sure take both seat and the other seat put other things, but when there are no seats in the bus, they expect us to give them our seats, i believe it's more of selfish then inconsiderate.

That's very typical to be seen everyday in buses and trains... There's a couple of times that people just simply don't want to move to the rear of the bus (as if there's ghost behind), me had to shout across from the front to ask the people to move in, on most times me get stares but me don't care, and at times, people clapped for my actions...
Likewise in trains, especially with the PRC people, they think they own the trains and most times just simply occupied two seats, especially in the peak hours, and they talked so loud... Me had to tell them off in a crude way that they don't own the trains and one butt only occupies one seat theory and the way and loudness they talk, they are the noise pollutants... Most times they just shut down and guai guai occupy one seat... -
They prefer to stay in front because it's more convenient to exit.

I do agree with what you say to an extent. You see, there are some group of senior citizens who are either illiterate or whose parents did not place much emphasis on courtesy and consideration of others while bringing them up. I only frown upon those younger generations who now have all the luxuries in modern Singapore, who are far more "educated", and who are simply arrogant, selfish, and thoughtless while commuting in public transport.
This problem with widespread INCONSIDERATION is the direct personification of the saying; "What goes around, comes around." People are doing unto others, what others have done unto them. This is a vicious cycle although wrong, can be very hard to stop, because outright selfish people still exists & are still doing unto others who are not selfish or inconsiderate by nature. -

We simply have to try and plan our own journey with them in it, such that we can also be comfortable. For example, expect the seat near exit to be occupied, go to the rear and prepare to make your way to the exit before the bus reaches your stop. Stuff like that.
It's called TOLERANCE. -

You know, all this is just culture.
Back when I was in Germany for a while, motorists at night when passing each other on a two way road, will swicth to low beam to avoid blidning the other oncoming motorist.
Here, nobody gives a damn! Instead, they try to OUTSHINE each other! Because the light glaring from the other approaching motorist, so the other motorist turn on high beam as well.
Mentality. It's immaturity of mentality and the lack of fine culture. Courtesy in europe is almost second nature! Requires no reminder to be considerate, it is AUTOMATIC!
When or rather how, do you think Singapore can arrive at such a level of graciousness?? -
And to all this "ugliness" of a society, we are laying claim to the title of "1st World" country???

In BC, Canada.....
Drivers think the left lane is a fast lane. That's not true. It's a PASSING LANE.
Whereas in US of A.....
MOST drivers use the left lane as a PASSING LANE. MOST drivers are considerate. That's just my opinion on the WEST COAST.
If BC drivers were to drive in the US of A. They will get SHOT in the head.
