Yes, laundry factory charge them more for these process, so they sell it more expensive too.
The below machine is similar to what we use in the factory.
The two "wheels" on both side will spin in high speed once turned on, and we rub certain parts(depending what parts the buyer want) of the garments on it to get the worn out effect. This type of effect are mostly done on denim garments, seldom on knitwear.
The industry of laundry factories changed from doing only enzyme wash, tinting,garment dye, etc to other process that does not need water, like sand blasting, whisker, grinding.
But for the picture you shown, they sew back some lines on it, that part is done by garment manufacturer, not by laundry factory. -
