Noida approves skyscraper proposal

Noida: The Board of New Okhla Industrial Development Authority (NOIDA) has approved a proposal to build a skyscraper tower with over 135 floors in Noida.
The proposed project, which was cleared at the last Board meeting, could well be the tallest building in the world.
At present, Taipei 101 is the tallest building at 508 metres.
The proposal for the skyscraper in Noida was placed by architect Hafeez Contractor for the city centre to be developed in Sector 32A.
Also, the Board has approved the development of an Information Technology sector in Noida, a senior official said.
The Board has also decided to increase the land rate for both the industrial and residential sectors, considering the tremendous demand by the public. Land earmarked for the group housing societies were also hiked by the Noida Board.
The rates of all industrial plots were increased by 50 per cent and the residential plots by 22 per cent.
The hike in sectors 14A, 15A and 17 were from Rs. 15700 to Rs 19200 per sq mtr. The hike in sectors 14, 15, 19, 21, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 36, 37 and 44 are from Rs 11,200 to Rs 13,700, sectors 20, 30, 31, 33, 34, 35, 39, 40, 41, 42, 43, 50, 51, 52 and 61 from Rs 6,750 to Rs 8,250.
Rates in sectors 53, 55, 56, 71, 72, 47, 48, 49, 11, 12, 22, 23 are from Rs 5,050 to 6,200 and the rates in new sectors to be announced in the future increased from Rs 3,700 to Rs 4,500 per sq mtr.
The rates of industrial plots in phase one have been increased from Rs 5,250 to 6,400 and in phase two from Rs 1250 to Rs 2500.
Land rate for the group housing societies have also been increased by 35 per cent.
