Poor sales of dzi beads......

  Some time ago, I went to some ancient dzi beads shops to take a look at dzi beads (ie; house of d***y, Ch*g Zh* G*) and I found that their business not very good.
  
  The place very empty with no/few ppl. Compared to 2003's pix in their printed brochures which they took of their premises, it was hustling and full of ppl looking/buying dzi beads.
  
  Why now the demand of dzi beads dropped? What's the possible cause(s)? Too many imitations of dzi beads that flooded the market caused the value of ancient dzi beads to drop?
