Why keep increasing transport fare??

why not make the public transport system in sg totally road-free?
more COE can be given out, den costs less to maintain public roads?
we'll needa find a way to generate elec' for sg rather than burning fuels to gain energy. so it'll have enough power to generate all LRT and MRT in singapore.
hope this kinda thing will be in reality before i die.

Profits is defintely needed, if not the there's no direction or objectives where the operators will go
But indeed there are pockets of bus svs that needs improvement, esp those serving Industrial Estates like Jurong.
Considerable our bus fares are actual runned by dist related fares, in Japan (I would say most prefectures) and Hong Kong, the buses charges flat fare
Like for HK's case, for medium - long haul rts the fares ranges bet HK$8 and HK$20, which is bet S$1.60 and S$4.50, short haul rts ranges bet HK$4 and HK$6, which is abt S$0.80 and S$1.50 -

I complaint so much to LTA , and they called me in to join them as so-called member . I still did my part as a member now , and co-incidently , they implement policy just after i voiced our cabbies unhapiness . Just co-incidence la .

Let me emphasis : 2002 , diesel $0.44 per liter , now 2006 $0.89 per litre , 4 year diesel prices doubled ! Cabby salary : unchanged !
Meaning what ? Cabby bear the cost of the diesel increase , at the expense of the cabby salary . -
Looking at the demand of oil for China alone , oil prices not likely to go down , when oil price don't go down , do you people expect transport prices to go down ?

COE price have drop significantly compared to those from 5 years ago. Why can't they just bear the increase in prices with the cost offset? Basically shareholders are complaining that their bonus is not fat enough hence the brunt of the fuel price hike goes to the consumers. Next year they will increase the car rental price to meet the quota.

For me, the more tu lan I get, I will question them more critically -
whether or not they heed you , it's one question , whether or not u scream at that or not , it's another .
If u don't scream at them , make your voices heard , they don't even know that there is a problem does exist in Sporeans .
I strongly believe , that feedback unit , those feedbacks , interesting or not , is been seen by Spore influential figures around .
people like Vivian Balakrishnan etc .... have trust in him .
