do you guys hope that one day within our lifetime, scientists can come up with a youth pill that enable you to live few hundred years?
i certainly hope and i would probably work towards achieving this aim. please dun reply with the "its the quality that counts" response.
if it is what you say then my second question is,
if the scientists do indeed invent this pill, will those people who say "it is the quality of life that counts" people try to get the pill? i think obviously they will.
hence it seems pretty obvious that if a youth pill is created, the common reaction is to take them.
as to the problem of overpopulation, we of course have to deal with it. i thought it is quite stupid to say that you will sacrifice your life so that overpopulation will not occur. -
if the pill is to prolong your life at the stage of 70 years-old for another 200 years, i personally dont think its that great. in fact, its a torture.
any other way, it would mean singaporeans have to work until they are 200 years old before they can get their CPF.

Its not just about whether we want to live longer or not. If the pill can guarantee that i will be free of sicknesses while living to 200 yrs old or my body can still function like I am only 30, who dun wan? As much as u dun wish to hear "quality of life", as of now, it is still the best thing to concentrate on.

Even if the pill gives you good health to live a few hundreds years old, it doesn't give you wealth to feed you nor does it give immunity to car accidents, plane crash, drowning...etc.
Even if you've very good health, when it's your time to go, destiny will create many other ways to take you away one. -
Anyway, I want to say that this thread is a good example why it's so important to resign to destiny and live within your life path.
Don't think of unrealistic ideas.... It is vital to acknowledge the existence of destiny - the unseen forces. -

you keep saying about destiny... but what is destiny?
you mean to say that everything you have done in your life is not being made by your own choice. or have you been floating all your life because destiny is driving you.
don't you think in your life, form opinions and act on your plans. people create changes in life by their thoughts, and actions.
i am not saying that there is a solution to aging out there. but i believe that we should try to research more to make a better judgment. as to you all saying that it is unrealistic, it is usually the narrowminded of your minds. many things were deem to be unrealistic in the past.
i admit there may not be a solution to this issue but neither can anyone prove that there is no solution to preventing death. -

I always feel guilty that for me to survive, so many chickens, ducks, plants, cows, fruits, etc had to be sacrificed. It's abit scarry to think that everyone will be able to live forever, population grows, then food consumption doubles or triples every generation, what happens when man outgrow food consumption... Cannibalism will not be so far fetch when that happens. -
i think the answer to 'immortality' or perhaps 'longer life span' lies in the humble cancer cell

living forever sounds good on the surface. but will you have health or are you jsut bedridden/ paralysed and doomed to live in eternity in pain?

even though we may be slogging, but surely there are things you can do for others while you are living? if you die early, then does it really benefit anybody?
