If you take up a random script in English and you can read the script fast and fluently, then you will not be able to do the same if the script were in your mother tongue? Is it true? Vice versa too.

If the script is ABC, and in mother tongue version is your hanyu pinyin, I don't think one should have problems.

Research shown if a child is exposed to different kinds of language with the right methods right after his birth, he can master 7 languages effectively in his life. Results vary though if the script has bombastic(eng) or hard to read words(chi)

Next comes the grammar, if something is written in old english and then the translation in chinese wen yan wen, I doubt you have an easy speaking it.
