Exchanging MP3 Player

  okay, i got this mp3 player for my friend in sim lim square.
  
  the sales person lied that the battery life is 7hrs to 9hrs - which the fact is it can only run to 4 hours as quoted by the distributor (which i called later on after testing). my friend tested it to only like 2hrs+.
  
  this is pathetic, its obviously u can't hear shyte with that kind of battery. she lied and i am going to demand an exchange for another product or even better a refund.
  
  any ideas to make my argument to have more substance?

  Shop actually cannot say lah.. not fair 1 i tell you, just like handphone... they might quote you like 4 hours talktime on the handphone box but it actually 2 hours and battery flat liao... specs given my manufacturer might be wrong.

  distributor confirmed is 4 hrs. i called them up. actual usage is slightly lower than 4 hours.
  
  any case, i juz wanna change for another player. say.. an ipod nano. they do sell it, so i wanna top it up with cash.

  on first use, batt life will be lower
  
  after few charge n discharge, it will return to norm

  in this case...distributor is not really wrong...because 4 hrs might be due to usage and their testing...since u test is slightly lower than 4 hours...then it is pretty reasonable...
  
  however...the sales person is in the wrong to boost till 7-9 hrs...thats bullsh!t...you can complain to the shop...tell the shop you bought the player because of its battery life...now the battery life cannot last that long...of cos i want to change...

  yup. plus im willing to pay more for a much higher end model from them too.

  Just said that you have your rights under the Consumer Gurantees Act that goods suits the description and fit for use. And they are under the Fair Trading Act to refund or replace your mp3 player lor

  Did you charged it for 6-8 hours on first charging? If not that might the cause. The playtime of player 7-9 hours is estimated contnuous play, if you keep on & off it or skip between the songs, confirm will not last that long. If your purchase is within 7 days with receipt, you can probably ask for a change of new player or other models but a refund is highly unlikely. Again since you bought at Sim Lim, its not easy to have them give you an exchange as sometimes these sets are from parallel import with no warranties that the risk you have to take if you want to purchase it at a lower cost.

  yes, i did. first time i charge 8 hr plus.
  
  i tested it several times after that. my friend too.
  
  its within 7 days, tmr will be the 7th.
  
  yeah, i wanna change for ipod nano, top with cash. i remmeber they gt sell.
  
  the distributor right in sim lim, i got visit the shop before.

  the lady remember my face cuz i got return once with a bug. turns out setting never set properly. interface so confusing, they oso blur blur, almost got me a new set.
