Crumpler is a bag company based in Melbourne, Australia. It began as a messenger bag company, but has since expanded its range, notably into laptop bags, camera bags.
In image of laricanism, iconoclasm and informality are key to the marketing strategy of Crumpler. In the US, they recently held a "beer for bags" promotion, and from their early days they have a had a novel approach to advertising [1]. Most of their product line are given wacky names, like "School Hymn" and "Wonder Weenie".
Crumpler uses a proprietary fabric in all its products called ChickenTex®, which is based on the durable material Cordura®.
Although it still markets itself as an Australian company, Crumpler moved most of its manufacturing operations to Vietnam in (date needed, before 2002).
