  but seriously, before even making plans to get a dog, go read up books about care for dogs, what types of breeds are suitable for your home, the space and all that... how much exercise is necessary to keep the dog healthy and happy... what are the typical illnesses which the breed is prone to... all that...

  but before you go there, google some facts to narrow down your selection first...

  Give them freedom, don't beat them when they bark, they are just simply asking for something like food, going for a walk or when they don't feel well. As long as your dog is happy then you will be happy too.
