How to configure 2 switch and 3 router for 4 workstation

Right now i am facing a problem, i only have 3 router, 2 switches, how can i setup the 4 wokstation and albe to ping each other???

is this some kinda IQ test that kind if u got 2 of this, 3 of this, 4 of this, and you must only use each one once, how to do it?

why u nd a router? just use 1 switch can liao. Switch will "learn" & keep a list of all the mac address of all the different PC network card in it's table. No need router lah.
but depends lah, if you just want network for lan gaming, one switch to connect 4 pc can le.
unless you want to play LAB test like in CCNA, you want different subnet for different network then depends ......
2 switch and 1 routers(2 network interface).

Router network interface A connect 1 Switch (X cable)
Router network interface B connect 1 Switch (X cable)
Connect PC to switch using (normal cat 5 straight cable)
Make sure all the PC under the same subnet.
The router will learn the and how to route automatic
2 switch and 2 routers connected via serial

mayb i can do some explanation. there mayb a scenerio when you hav 2 workstations each in 2 separate rooms so in order to share your datas between the 4 computers simultaneously and allowing each of the 4 computers to access the network or to the internet, what was proposed makes it feasible.Originally posted by berll:why are your routers and switches more than your workstations?

more or less the concept works likewise for big companies with multiple computers and a networking system.
the army works the same too. you got a few transmission links to a switch to a command post at yio chu kang. if any of the transmissions were to link up to one at lim chu kang that has a switch to the command post there, the commanders at YCK and LCK can communicate, fax, send encoded data etc between themselves. if one link is down anywhere, the link can be taken up provided if there are spare hardware to facilitate the set up or another node that is linked to your destinated party.

Seriously, there could be some reason for needing so many routers and switches. It could be the workstations are in different room, and he wants to wire them up. -
u just need a switch to ping each other.
