just use either a router or switch to connect all 4 workstations.
mayb i can do some explanation. there mayb a scenerio when you hav 2 workstations each in 2 separate rooms so in order to share your datas between the 4 computers simultaneously and allowing each of the 4 computers to access the network or to the internet, what was proposed makes it feasible.Originally posted by berll:why are your routers and switches more than your workstations?

i know what you mean, but it's like the question is: "Right now i am facing a problem, i only have 3 router, 2 switches, how can i setup the 4 wokstation and albe to ping each other???"Originally posted by newmanmback:mayb i can do some explanation. there mayb a scenerio when you hav 2 workstations each in 2 separate rooms so in order to share your datas between the 4 computers simultaneously and allowing each of the 4 computers to access the network or to the internet, what was proposed makes it feasible.
more or less the concept works likewise for big companies with multiple computers and a networking system.
the army works the same too. you got a few transmission links to a switch to a command post at yio chu kang. if any of the transmissions were to link up to one at lim chu kang that has a switch to the command post there, the commanders at YCK and LCK can communicate, fax, send encoded data etc between themselves. if one link is down anywhere, the link can be taken up provided if there are spare hardware to facilitate the set up or another node that is linked to your destinated party.
noting weird about that. btw can anyone help me explain how an engine works?
