R There More or less skools now than last decade?

  I seems to notice man schools are missing lah, closed down ect.
  Prev decade right? correct me there were more kids/ teenagers to fill up schools, is dat true?

  Some schools move house, some merged because not enough students, some schools are tore down.

  Wonder if all boys and all girls school are getting lesser? I came from a all boys school during Secondary. Wonder if there is a rising phenonmenon to phase out all boys or all girls school concept?
  
  Anyway whoever think of same gender school concept? Wat is the rationale behind it?

  1. consolidation under PRIME
  2. fewer but bigger and taller schools
  
  this is so despite the conversion of dual-session to single-session.

  my pri school merged with 2 others. cos of not enough students. total school population was abt 500 only.

  80's and 90's that time a lot more skools. Also i think much of sg population was still growing up. Hence more teenagers and kids that time.

  yep in the 80s, bt statistics show after 1990 birth rate declined. but those 80s born generation are finshed studies working already.
