Do employers check educational background??

As above, when a company employs a person, do they actually checked the education background and working backgorund of a person?
For example , Sally has a Degree in XXXX from states and working with company YYYY for 4 years.
Would the future employers checked the university she got her degree from and also the company she worked before with??
Just curious. And also, is it possible to enter overseas Uni with just O levels cert?
Cos my uncle wanna send my nephew overseas after his O's and said that he can get him into a degree program. Is it possible? -

yar. i did mention to get a college diploma first. but my uncle seems determined that his son can enter Uni after O's. Not about results. But the fact that he knows it can happen. It's not possible to get into university straight away after Os, not even overseas. However, some overseas universities offer bridging programs. These bridging programs teach him whatever foundations he may need in university. He will only spend a year or two and after that he can continue his studies in a university.

my ite teacher was once a hr practitioner, he came across a cert that's fake.
In sg, one can go take private A and then Masters straight away. It will be faster lor. -
Then its a BOGUS university, no one admits into undergraduate programme with O levels. Some employers may go to the extent of verifying that info with the college and previous employer. It is possible to enter US universities after O levels provided you have also satisfied some of the entry requirements (such as achieving suitable scores in SAT and TOEFL). I don't think you can rely purely on an O level cert to satisfy their entry requirements. -

but not straight to degree.
alot uni out there offer diploma
so they do diploma first then they pursue degree.

check go check lah scare what if yr cert real 1, but i hate it when they take one month to check and come back to u a month more later and say..okay r u interested...so slow

call up those private institution which offer degree programs for more info, of course, call those more established one, not those with names like football clubs.
