I don't think its "arrogant" to assume that. If u would realise how HUGE this *observable* universe is....Originally posted by #$%^&*:It is also arrogant to assume in universe there are aliens. There is a term to describe this kind of faulty logic. It basically says, your logic is twisted because you assume that since the universe is so large, then there must be another intelligent form. It is entirely possible that we are the only so called intelligent form, nobody else. It doesnt mean since the universe is so large, then there must be some chance for another intelligent creature.
well im God, and i say that the scientists are wrong. your mom is also gay.. very gay..Originally posted by EveryGirlsMan:Not i say, becasue scientists said. What will happen. Like the Tom Cruise movie..Scariii^^^^^
u in the same class as Xu Mei Jing right?Originally posted by coffeeortea:well im God, and i say that the scientists are wrong. your mom is also gay.. very gay..
I also can say that what, your point?Originally posted by EveryGirlsMan:Not i say, becasue scientists said. What will happen. Like the Tom Cruise movie..Scariii^^^^^
thats right. what we know about the Universe is what we assume it to be. Until we explore other planets (not with robotic probes, but with REAL people) we will never know for sure what really exists out there.Originally posted by #$%^&*:It is also arrogant to assume in universe there are aliens. if a technologically advanced alien species has journeyed hundreds of light years to our planet, then who would win? A species of arrogant, self-multilating, greedy humans who havent even LEFT inner sol, or an alien civilisation that has mastered space flight and the manipulation of the energies of the universe, united and arriving in fleets of a thousand warships, each the size of Singapore?Originally posted by whereismyrib:Then we capture them and let them be our slaves......![]()
another explanation would be that every alien civilisation that has existed has wiped itself out before it attains mastery of space flight or the building of off-world colonies on other planets. A good example would be Earth, where the dominant species is killing itself and the environment it lives in. It is thus logical to also assume that an intelligent alien species would have caused its own extinction through environmental destruction or by usage of weapons of mass destruction.Originally posted by sgquitter:I don't think its "arrogant" to assume that. ALSO in addition, given the vast amount of TIME, (14bil yrs old, much much more to go?), it is highly possible that there were/are/will be lifeforms beyond Earth.
Although maybe what u're trying to say is that the "alien life-forms" may not be what we call "intelligent life-forms". (what makes us think we're so *intelligent* anyway)
The question is:
Will we be lucky enuff to meet some smart aliens in our pitifully short life-span (compared to the universe)? Furthermore its not easy to find anything given the size of the universe... we have better chance of finding a needle lost in the middle of pacific ocean
BTW, recently scientists are coming up with the idea that we may in fact be aliens ourselves.

We might be from Mars (or beyond) and evolved from Microbes. heheh So its true - Aliens are already here. And its actually us

Given the vast number of various species on Earth, it is logical to assume that some of them might come from planets beyond or within the Sol System. Mars once has liquid water that covered a portion of its surface, but dried out over billions of years. Traces can still be found there. What if, buried hundreds of metres below the Martian surface is a vast city network that stretches all across the planet? The Martian Civilisation, destroyed a billion years ago by environmental pollution and weapons of mass destruction, would have been buried by the dust storms that constantly rage across the Red Planet. Unless humans or robots are sent to DIG into the ground, no one would know for sure what lies beneath. Another suggestion would be that humans and some other mammals are actually Martians themselves, whose seeds have been propelled towards its neighbour Earth to preserve the native species of a doomed world.Originally posted by sgquitter:I don't think its "arrogant" to assume that.
