Hey pple,
I contemplated a career change lately....but I stayed. That's because after 3 interviews with different companies, I still feel that my boss is the best. And after sorting out some thoughts, there's still everything to gain in my career.
What abt u? What's impt?
1) Pay
2) Challenge
3) Path ahead
4) Boss
5) Colleagues
6) Others
Do u think that a high pay but meaningless job is sustainable? -

challenge - yes depend on what challenge, meeting dateline? dealing with ppl? exploring or getting to know your products? or simplying putting up with your colleagues or bosses?
path ahead - look ahead to and work for it but dun expect it to be absolute
Boss - those unreasonable and claim credits that everything they do they did it alone one sux
Colleagues - i make friends...colleagues will only and always be colleagues
others - are u bored with what you are doing? if its time for a change just change lor -
the job must interest me.

Low pay and gd colleagues make a dead end partnership....
Gd pay but monotony at work will stifle your mental well-being.....

A boss who is nice to you is hard to find.
Different factors will be more important at different stages of your life/career, but one consistent factor for me is that I cannot work for a bo liao (no substance) boss. -
I won't say my pay is fantastic but definitely not more than my doctor, lawyer and SAF officer classmates.
As the chinese saying goes, "Ren bi ren, qi si ren". In English it means - There's no end to comparison".
BUT I'm happy in my current job (got wonderful colleagues too!) and it helps me maintain a postive outlook of life and keeps me cheerful all the time. After all, we spend 1/3 of our everyday working, 1/3 of it sleeping and so we got to make sure our work does not affect our remaining 1/3 social time!
Perhaps money cannot buy everything...... -
