Dear Fellow Singaporeans,
I felt a certain rush to pen this down tonight. I have been watching some of these Singaporeans flying their RC Kites since 1.5 years ago and also found out that they have been flying since 2001. How is it possible that tonight I overheard some groups of Chinese nationals claiming that we Singaporeans are flying their products!!!
I went on to ask some of the flyers flying tonight and they told me they have been hearing these claims from these Chinese nationals for a couple of nights now. The reason they speculated for these Chinese nationals to make such claims is because recently there were some Chinese companies made these kites copied from our fellow Singaporeans and started marketing in Singapore and overseas. Taking away our local innovation and claiming that they were the first to create these kites. I think this is rather shameless. I did not feel as strong about it until I went to the internet and did a search.

I got this from a posting on a Singapore Hobby Forum. RC Kites started in Singapore way back in 2001 by people from GoFlyKite.com. How can these companies from China claim to be the first in the world...???!!! Haha...what a joke!!! I agree that these are really some shameless acts.
China Company Stole Singapore Video!!!
A china company actually stole the Singapore Video produced by Channel 8 done for GFK and put on their own website as if its their video to promote their copied product!!! How shameless!!!
The product they copied is Pro III....disgusting... they even have the cheek to put 2 more video clips from GFK with their own company website being watermarked onto the video claiming they are the owner.
One of the video they stole was when GFK did an exhibition at SUNTEC BlueSky Festival 2005 by Action Community For Entrepreneurship (ACE) and the other clip they stole was GFK participation at the 2005 NDP Celebration at the Marina South Carnival...

They even claimed that they are the FIRST RC Kites in the world...how can they do such despicable acts.
These are done first by Singaporeans, something I can (if not, we can all) feel proud to tell the story. But now, somebody from somewhere else making such false claims...Can we as Singaporeans each do something to bring back the glory to ourselves?
I am very pissed about such acts....

I want to do something about this...I felt it is not right for others to just take things away from someone else creation. What I know is that at least the boss of this company, Michael actually mentioned on the national tv program sometime last year that he did not invent these flying models but he got the inspiration from a product from USA. Well, at least he did not say that he invented them and gave credits to someone else. This is what should be done. Now, these Chinese fake our locally innovated products and claimed as theirs...this is clearly plagiarism!!
Fellow Singaporeans, I urge that we all do something about this issue and support what belongs to Singapore and fellow Singaporeans.
Can IPOS do something about such issues? It really hurts to hear false claims like that and said that we Singaporeans are using their products where they are the ones who copied our creation and our pride... -

I felt that it is a way of showing patriotism when we do what we can to help our fellow countrymen and Singapore clear the name of using "their" products (ie.
