Aspect ratio for plasma TV

Hi, is there any difference in the quality of 16:9 and a full-screen 4:3 for normal mediacorp channels?
the TV manual said the latter will have noticeable stretch at the left and right edge and none for the first ,but when i tried both aspect ratio both looked the same. -
someone got a plasma tv sia!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

no problems. plasma shld be 16:9.

unker can always try tune in to HDTV DVB-T trial channels. not sure if TVM can be received in the same way though.

it's an open trial, not an exclusive trial. u dun have to apply and they wun give u the receiver either.
mediacorp is showing selected programs from its channels for a few hours everyday on this channel. if i'm not wrong, the TVMobile signal is just a few MHz away so if can tune in to that at least can watch something more decent.
DVB-T receivers i think about 100-200 and is for use over the air, not cable. but i cannot confirm cos i dun have. some ppl in HWZ had alrd reported success in tuning in but i have no such personal experience or equipment to play with yet. -
oh...where to get the recievers?any hardware/electrical shops?

dunno. go walk around SLS? also need to see wat's ur plug on the tv end.
try tuning first and see if u can receive the HDTV channel not. and find someone who has some technology knowledge.

there seems to be a "double" shadow of the superimposed subtitles on channel 8,but it is not very noticable when sitted far away,is it normal?
