Working as a librarian

I was at NLB just now, and I suddenly thought.
How is it like working as a librarian? Any one wants to share? -
the sort books, arrange books or the counter attend to queries one or the walk around scold kids to shuddup one?

how much is the pay?

librarians are busy too. they have to shelve books, return books to the shelves, do cataloging, maintain order in the library and do admin stuff
but overall i think its a rather boring job, so thanks to librarians who are willing to do such monotonous jobs for the benefit of all

i like monotonous jobs because i dont have to think much

NLB will send you on course to get to be a certified librarian or something...
i actually thought of quitting my job to be one once.. but then, i kinda enjoy my job too

It may seem relaxing, but sometime it's pretty stressful cause there's audit, annual stock take and stuffs.

Hmm, i always see the librarians at their desks typing away if they are not arranging the books
i think they also do a lot of backroom stuff, like processing returned books or new materials -
hmm yup... they also have to source for new books, do reviews, read alot...
there was once an article in the papers on librarians... and they read many books in one month. -

hey but being a chef... i don't think they eat alot of what they cook. Usually I don't feel so appetized after cooking things that may look or taste yummy to others...................... but it's not like always the food ends up yummy.

quite a number of librarians have masters degree. those who sort the books are library assistants. librarians are the one in dark suits. -

working as a Librarian, think I will like this job after I retired (some time in the future)...
