umm thats not called traditional chinese, thats called Qing dynasty, in QIng dynasty males were made to shave their heads like that according to Manchu tradition and wear robes like that. but in other dynasties chinese people all looked different, how do you say which one is the traditional one? every dynasty also very different.

I say that there is no such thing as the 'standard' traditional costume.
Think about it. You used Jet Li's picture as an example of what you think traditional chinese costume is like. But that's the fictitious world of movies. And someone already commented that Jet Li's clothing style is late Qing. So if you are choosing something traditional to wear, why not consider Ming, or even earlier like Tang or ever Qin?
My point is that you should wear whatever clothes you choose to wear, even if others criticize you for being 'traditional' or 'not traditional enough'. Don't wear an 'ethnic' constume because the school/workplace/govt campaign ask you to do so, even if there's no such tradition in your family.
An annecdote: My young girl cousin came home one day and told her mom that her teacher in school was 'forcing' everyone to wear 'traditional ethnic costume' for Racial Harmony Day. When my aunt asked her what 'traditional' clothes she had to wear, my cousin said 'cheongsam'. My aunt said NONE of the women in her family wore cheongsam, but she was forced to buy one for her daughter because of her stupid school policy...

Actually we can go further back than the Qing, Ming, Song, etc. dynasties.
We can go all the way back to the traditions of our primeval anscestors, and wear "fig leaves" around our private parts.
