Go to your boss and say you have a slight issue which you want to disscuss with him. Play it down as just a minor issue. Do not give the impression that you have too much free time but that you would like to do something enriching or more useful when you finish your task.
Explain to the boss this problem and ask whether it is apporiate for you to bring some reading materials like books and magazines to read as your work is more task based and you have so call free time sometimes and you need to occupy yourself properly. If he is reasonable, he might even allow you to surf net.....anyway, your problem is small case.....i rather have little work to do than alot of endless work....good luck...it's just 2 weeks, i'm 2 months from mines.,, -

I feel you... the job is horribly boring. I was temp for quite a prestigious bank here... and well... I slept before lunch... and stoned after lunch. Of course, I do complete the tasks assigned to me before stoning (or heading to the pantry and look at the scenery with a drink)

Yes, this type of job is really killing. And since u have no work or activites, it also make u v sleepy; esp if u not enough sleep, or tired and aircon place make u more sleepy. After lunch also v sleepy.
If cannot read books, magazine, then best is to meditate , or quiet chant
(Not trying to get u into this but if u are already a practitioner of these, then it is useful, and good for the mind too ! )
Else, small mp3 player or little booklet like somone suggest, but not very go impression since u are a NEW TEMP there. If theysee, they not happy.
Or read up the company newsletter, or company books, or product catalogue etc .
That way, they cannot fault u, right ?

I can empathise with you. Been through all that shiat. There must be something you want by taking on this temp admin job. Mebbe it's the money. If so then focus on that money objective. Which is more important to you? If it's the money, then bite the bullet and bear with the boredom...... Since you can't surf the net or read, then try doing something that doesn;t require any mobements lor. Set the target of mastering meditation. When you've set an objective, you may help your mind become more focused and give yourself something challenging and some target.
Besides meditating, I may suggest fantasisizing. This may provide some "entertainment". Your mind is a powerful tool and a fertile place to let your thoughts run free....... ... Develops your creativity by being your own movie producer/director and scriptwriter.
