Can use expiring Passport for short travel to Msia?

  the people to ask are the malaysian authorities, not anyone around here..
  
  go get a new passport.. you'll get it pretty quickly
  
  oh.. after 8th Aug, the cost of the singapore passport will increase by $20

  I think you will need a passport that is not expiring for another 6 months or you will be refused entry. So make a new passport online at

  It is cheaper making a new one online and time saving.

  dun waste ur trip to jb customs only to be turned back and escorted onto a public bus back to singapore at the office.
  
  and i dun think there is anything worth risking u being stranded in malaysia if u managed to get in but can't get out cos they make a big fuss at the departure hall.

  yeah lor... but i think at sg customs already they will ask u to turn back....

  Depends on "how expiring" it is.
  
  It is on the malaysian Immigration's discretion...
  
  if more than 5 months.. they usually let you in.
  
  3-4 months.. they let you in but allow only up to 1week of stay.
  
  1-2 months.. better not try.

  oh fyi, i did go into jb with a 2 month expiring passport. i didn't even know about it until months later. nobody stopped or told me.

  8 Aug will be the cut off date
  
  After which, the ICA passport section will close for abt 3-4 days to change to the new biometric system
