any hdb residents here lives in a ground floor unit of a hdb flat? how do you think of living in a ground floor unit of a hdb flat?

Terrible, cats & pest will able to sneak into your house...

nvr tried but heard its kinda no privacy for the whole family cos ppl can look into ur windows when they walk by ur unit. also it is the easiest to have roaches and other pest roaming into ur house cos its the most easily accessed for them. dun have to worry much abot robbery tho unless ur ground unit is in a secluded part of the cluster of flats.

I guess it depends on what you want
I mean yeah pests will get into your house but if you don't mind that and if you like gardening then maybe the void deck unit is best for you.
I have seen people putting up swings and even digging a pond etc and putting out deck chairs and tables to sit in their 'garden' -

oh those are the newer types of ground units. the older types that are in TPY and commonwealth area are those that are really on par with the ground that type.

The only benefit is, ppl who live ground floor have 0 risk of being trapped in a lift, in their own block.

In general ground floor units are cheaper and like earlier ppl say, you can have your own little pond or garden or place to hang clothes as you open door is open area liao
But I still tink privacy is a bit issue. Imagine you and wife happy shiok inside the bedroom then ppl walk past can eavesdrop. Or maybe some couples do it without sound but then even with mouth don't open emit sound, the banging of meat against meat also hv some sound leh hahhaha.... -

usually it's the malays who choose these units... and they will have cats that roam around in the car park (i always find this amazing!!!!!!!!! not worried de meh??? if we let our cats out to the corridor, we will keep an eye on them... in case they wander around and get lost... what more there are cars in the car parks, so dangerous).... and they will also have a lot of plants..... just as if they are still living in the kumpong...

i heard many years ago in a flat my parents lived in there was this couple living on first floor and the sewer system something wrong everyday all the shit and urine form above will leak into their bathroom

when those bangala come throw rubbish..
den ppl dun really can look into our hse..
cuz above the head level leh..
aniwae its fun to live at ground floor..
can hold BBQ or party easily.. -

if u suay hor... the area u live in.. quite low hor...everytime got heavy rain get ready for floods

dun like.
i prefer top lvl, more privacy and minimal pests. since my room faces towards the carpark, dun have building to obstruct too. the primary school downstairs oso not directly towards me so no noise oso.
if ground lvl for my block... wah. juz the noise will kill u. -
if everyone above u bathe at the same time...by the time supply reaches ground floor, only few tiny drops of water left.

Nope. When my do water pipe contractor come he say in general HDB flat 4th floor to ground floor the water power source is shoot up from ground floor upwards to service the households.
