I am sure most of u have have been to school attachment b4..care to share ur experience during ur attachment times? Since i am the thread starter, i will start the ball rolling..I was attached to a so-called international company to do my attachment for a duration for 4 months..during the firs few wk..i was my desk is the most "Feng shui bao di"..Coz my desk is jus right infront of my boss office..wat's worst is tt my boss office is open concept de..Meaning all the walls and door is make of glass..And i was given some document to be type into the company database..But i am taking a engineer course in my poly..which i think it's superb 100% not related to wat i study in sch lor..But after a few wks of torture, i was send to the R&D department which is located far far far away from him..which is a good news for mi of course..and now i left 2 more wks to complete my attachment..hope all these end asap..b active..Share ur experience..But from wat i know..as wat poly call it attachment or uni call it IA, almost 70% of attachment is doing rubbish right? not related to wat u study right?

depends on ur luck wat kinda co. u are attached to........
the main thing is to let u experience how it is like in a corporate environment......
whether u are able to applied wat u learnt in books to the attachment tasks is another thing......
nowadays, schools are very stringent in selecting companies and matching jobs for the students.....
in any case tt u feel uncomfortable, u can always approach ur liaison officer and tell him/her the problems..... -
You know what I am doing for my 1st poly attachment? Storeman although I am an engineering student...
But luckily I am very happy working in there and most of my fellow colleagues there are nice towards me... -
no need to complain one lah. attachment students r jus temp cheap labours to them. seriously, u expect them to give u impt roles or responsibility??? my fren even have to sweep the floor n CLEAN TOILET loh! ridiculous!

my store manager was very ke bo lor..
but on the last day i left, the manager (my manager's direct superior) talked to me and my LO, gave very good feedbacks. Said I'm the best intern that was attached to her co so far. Then my LO left liao, she asked me how I feel about my store manager.. i told her almost everything.

Undergraduate in mechanical engineering.
Went for attachment in a shipyard.
Sent to the mechanical workshop.
Did dirty and greasy hands-on repair on valves and pumps together with banglas.
Refused to do hands-on after some time.
Sent to another department.
Did data entry and file packing.
**Conclusion: Employ undergrads to do sai gang (dirty job) for a mere $500-$600 per month. Freaking cheap labour compared to employing a part time worker for $1000+ per month. Main reason why many companies love to take in attachment students.
Some companies (very few) do treat attachment students seriously. They give them proper work and training. Some even offer the hardworking students scholarships. This is the correct way of handling attachment students. However, in today's economy where job seekers exceed job vacancies, the companies don't give a damn whether you want to go back to them after you graduate. There will always be many others who would want to have the chance. Sigh... -
Attachment very fun. Always go home early but come work late.

I was attached to a large organization in the internal audit department.
The work given for me to finish for two months was simple data entries which i completed in 2 weeks hahaa.Hence i just be lobo there loh,once in a while help photocopy stuff brew coffee,odd jobs etc.If no work for me is given i can even went to the staff lounge to play arcade games and pool hahahaaa allowances also not bad leh 700+ it was very fun and enjoyable,they even bought me a box of chocolates when i left . -
