NDP got holiday?

  hi all,
  
  i think NDP is on the 9th Aug.....is there a holiday on the 10th?
  if so, do office workers like us get to receive this holiday as well?
  
  or does it apply only to students and NDP performers?

  wednesday and thursday no school ! good news to students. Tuesday half day too..

  The sch might as well have the friday an off-day also since Wednesday & Thursday holiday but back again on Friday for lessons

  Primary School = Tues 1/2 Day, Wed Hols
  
  Secondary School = Tues 1/2 Day, Wed Hols, Thurs Hols
  
  Post Secondary (JC / Poly / ITE) = Wed Hols ONLY
  
  Reason of Sec Sch having Thursday off is that many students in Secondary School participates in the National Day Parade and hence given 1 additional off days. It will be too messy to issue individual additional holidays, so it was given across the board.
  
  Do note that certain Primary Schools / Post Secondary schools will give Thursday as a Holiday in substiture for Polling day if 'compensation' for it have not been given.
  
  As for why Friday cannot be off, MOE have a guideline on how school can distribute the holidays.

  Primary to JC students will be having holidays on the 10th as well.
  
  Not too sure for polys. For RP, no off on 10th.

  im so not a NDP fan, much less a singaporean fan. i told myself so many times, next time i make it big i would migrate to the US, where the propaganda there is not as much as it shows in Singapore here.
