I have always wanted to learn how to fly. I came across this flying school in Malaysia (http://climbmax.org/) that teaches trike flying. Sounds interesting and i am thinking of taking up the course. If anyone here has any experience, knowledge, opinion etc etc please share.
how old are you?
i'm currently 17, doing my private pilot's licence course with the singapore youth flying club, just flew my first solo a few days ago. Part time flying is quite time consuming, not to mention cash consuming too. I'm rather priveleged to do it without paying for fuel and maintenance etc, as the club (which is affiliated to the RSAF) takes care of them...i just have to pay for study materials and any retakes of failed CAAS papers (there are 6 of them, i haven't taken any yet, hopefully i don't fail any).
I'm not sure if trike flying is similar to conventional light aircraft flying, but personally, i'd encourage you to take up either one if you know you'll enjoy doing something like that, as i do. If you're taking the course part time, make sure you can juggle flying and your job well, as it gets quite demanding sometimes (I have to be at seletar around 8 hours a week, either flying or having groundschool, in addition to my JC1 workload), and furthermore, you have to travel to malaysia to do it. But if you think you're up for it, I would say just go for it.
Have you tried seletar flying club yet? they operate cessna 172s out of seletar, and do PPL courses too...don't know about the cost. their website is
