And scammers nowadays operate from a number of countries, including the UK. The UK in fact has a sizable African minority. I remember reading about scambaiting operations on UK-based scammers.

The problem is there are too many lucky draw events in Singapore and people all kiasu must fill them up. Sometimes they do not even read it carefully. Like when is the drawing date, where to collect price, host by who etc. So when scams like these came, ppl think its one of their lucky draw slips thats been drawn.
