If someone have Poly GPA of 1.66 can go Top University?

I knew someone who had graduated with Cs and Ds from Poly (play play did not study, O level for 6 subjects is 20pt) and wish to go to Top 10 Uni in EE. what are the chances of making in? How to make in? Can he survive? Or can he forget about it?

wats the use of entering in top Uni when u cannot make the grade...? u'll jz end up struggling n mess up the whole course in the end.... jz go for the level u can handle.... -

He probably has to take bridging courses and some other foundation modules during the summer if he can enter, or he has to settle for some other universities.

You can try going to a smaller community college or a lesser known one but one which has links to the top universities.
Take their first year courses even if you have done them before in Singapore and do well in them. Once you have good grades from your first year courses, you can use them in your application to the top universities and transfer the credits for your second year onwards.
Voila.
You are on your way to a degree.

can.. if he score 2400 for SAT
ok to be more realistic, what i would suggover est is to go to a community college, and then do as best as he can for SAT.. if u wanna enter the universities listed above.. you need at least more than 2000 for your SAT score. i am dead serious. to be able to transfer, the student has to do well in the community college, and need to build good relationship with lecturers, because these universities rely on lecturer recommendations and your entrance essays.
you can pm me if u wanna know how the transaction is like be it international or local student etc.. i have done all that shit and i will not deny that it is a pain in the ass if you are an international student. -

If do DL thru one of the school in SG, can transfer easily there?
