Salary of Phd holders

Just wondering, how much do these fresh Phd holders earn. I heard they get atleast $5000 as starting pay. Is this true? Any phdians here?

Most PhD holders end up in academia, either in teaching or research positions. Few, such as our estimable Dr. CSJ, go into alternative professions.

Are you sure?As far as i know, they work for very long hours and have plenty of projects to complete (atleast in research field). I don't about phd holders in Singapore but the phd professors I know teaching in some overseas unis party too much.
Way way too much.

I knew a Prof in that complain his $$ not even higher than those BS in EE in USA.
PHd is SG starting at SG$5000 that is possible. -

my cousin who has a phd came back to work with a starting pay of like more than 5k. her starting pay is higher than her dad who work at singpost for more than 40years. haha. my uncle always use this to motivate me to study harder. haha

a phD do earn 5k as starting pay..which could be already relatively low..
i know of a frd who got her phD, now teaching as a asst prof in local uni.
her starting pay is 6k+, which i do envy but not jealous of, cuz she only started her current career at age of near 30 (meaning over 20+ years of schooling

PhD in SIngapore in University can easily get $8000 at least FYI.
THe avg PhD is about $10,000-11.000.
The former MD of Esso Singapore was a PhD at $30,000 PLUS expatriate allowances. -
