but there are people who have won more than enough money to last forever.Originally posted by Arbitrageur:Gamblers of games of chance like Toto and 4D will always lose more then they can ever win.
Some lucky ones may win a prize if they play long enough but they will regret if they coninue to bet against the odds.
The only way to win in Toto and 4D is to stop betting on them!
For every lucky winner, there are thousands if not millions of losers.Originally posted by iLuVpOrKyPiG:but there are people who have won more than enough money to last forever.
isnt this what people will say to discourage gambling?Originally posted by Arbitrageur:For every lucky winner, there are thousands if not millions of losers.
The winning will not last if the winner conitnues to gamble.
There is no such thing as "forever lucky".
The odds will ensure that any winner will ultimately become the loser in the long run.

2 strike gold so far in $566m lottery

NEW YORK - THE world's biggest-ever lottery jackpot of US$370 million (S$566 million) has been won in the United States.
At least two punters struck gold after the winning numbers for the Mega Millions top prize were announced on Tuesday night here.
The numbers were 16, 22, 29, 39, 42 and the Mega Ball was 20.
Ohio Lottery spokesman Mardele Cohen said one winning ticket each had been sold in New Jersey and Georgia, and there could be others in California.
The prize had rolled over 15 times without a winner, with the most recent draw last Friday promising a relatively modest US$267 million.
But snowballing sales of tickets ramped up the jackpot and in turn sparked further interest in the draw. The one-in-176-million chance of picking the winning six numbers apparently did not put people off.
Reports said one million tickets were sold in a single hour on Tuesday in New York, one of the 12 states where Mega Millions is available.
Each ticket costs US$1 (S$1.55).
Whoever holds a winning ticket will also inherit a multi-million-dollar federal tax bill and will have to pay further state taxes.
The previous record lottery jackpot was US$365 million.
