Why do you think Rotiboy closes all outlets in Singapore but opens new ones in Malaysia and Thailand?
Is it some business strategy?

Singaporeans eat until sian already, every corner also have coffeebread, dont know which one to choose and decide on...lol

likely that the confectionary industry in singapore is already very satuated with so many confectionary around each corner of a town centre.So people used to eating such kinda snack bread and when roti boy came,it was just another 1 new novelty item soon to be tried and soon to be get sick of.
This is not the same in malaysia or thailand so the mkt is much bigger to play in,singapore just has too much kinda bread stuff snack food as competition.
But even thou,it must be said that RotiBoy better start thinking of new items to sell that has potential mkting factor if not with just that 1 single product,it is bound to die sooner or later. -

i think it is not nice cos the quality of rotiboy in singapore is damn lousy,they bake so many then leave it there in the aircon until it become cold.The one i tried in KL,they sell it hot from the stove,shiokOriginally posted by dragg:i tried one and dont find it nice. -

They simply refused to reinvent themselves for the singapore market. The day they came up with some pizza bread recipe, it was sure sign they were going bye bye.

juz like bubble tea... initially made quick and big bucks..
then see more other shops imitating Rotiboy.. till there's an abundance lor.
People walk pass everyday, dun eat also sick of that smell.
Rotiboy survived for some time already.. think the owner also earned enough..
it's better to wind up the business than making losses. -

Probaly the market in sg is saturated already and,bcuz of the lack of makerting champaing nt brought forward to the public
they face lot of competitors like bangawan solo,breadtalk,four season and the neightbourhood outlets
and even tho their bread are of certain standard,i guess the market here doesnt really view it as something worth their dollar -

actually when i first tried it in KL,it taste so great.When it came to singapore,initially i wanted to try it here did did not really found the time to do it,after the craze was over and they have more shops around,i passed by one,see the staff just bake and put it in the cold aircon...... somehow it does not look or smell appealing (the aroma in the air is way different from what it was in that KL shop)
So i guess the management is poor too in the shops they have here to do a good copy of what their counterpart in Malaysia do,the staff also do not look interested in their jobs on the baking and servicing,thus it will not be a wonder if the end product does not taste good.
