Have you ever received presents from friends which you don't like? how will u usually do with them?

from family...every year birthday without fail, its clothes
i know i am not suppoused to be angry and i should be lucky compared to some people who dun have birthdays remembered
but...
like christmas..they get everyone the same thing..its like once i see my cousin christmas present..mine would be the same..
and its not expensive mind you...those can be bought at pasar malam.. $2-3 -
I got a Baby Pooh soft toys a few years back for my bday from a friend.
I gave it as a present to my sister. -

Mostly from family during Christmas. They usually end up being donated.
Maybe this year end my extended family will use a plan proposed by my cousin. We're probably going to draw up a wishlist each, to be submitted to our aunts and uncles who will then pool money to see which item they can buy.
So instead of getting 10 useless gifts out of 12, we'll get 1 very good gift. -
Well, usually I'll keep them somewhere and not look at them until I run out of space and have to decide on what to throw away.

How much they cost, it's not an issue. What matters is that they bought them and wish you good luck. I don't see what's wrong with it. -

i don't get presents that i don't want. see, wad my friends and i do, we tell each other what we need/want for a gift. and that's what we'll give/receive. say i need a new wallet, and my bday is coming up. when they ask me what i want for my bday, i'll just tell them. and they'll decide what kinda wallet i will like.
then i do the same for them.
it beats getting rubbish for gifts. i'd just throw them away, or ask if my mum/bros want them or not. -

i got a big light bulb during a xmas gift exchange last yr. something like a battery-operated lamp which is shaped like a light bulb. i left it collecting dust although i was thinking of selling it to cash convertors, even for 50cents also better than being a white elephant.
i dont like receiving mugs and photo frames as gifts too.
