  When you're asleep you won't feel the pain, then when you wake up the dentist will... probably not be open since it's a Sunday.
  
  So in the end you'll prolly need the sledge hammer and the muay thai kick and the quack dentist to help you after all.

  Toothaches usually requires stronger pain killers, panadols aren't going to work at all.
  
  Also, if you are suffering from servere toothache, dentist will not extract your tooth until pain subsides. He'll probably give you a course of pain killers and antibiotics to reduce infections first.
  
  Once the pain stops, you are expected to go have it extracted then.
