But this is the only question I can think of. I hope education in schools is not about discussing how to punish students. That's most ironic.
Simply said, the system really needs to be changed. That's a sad reality we have to face up to. -
hello...below r examples of how contrasting the punishemnts given by male n female teachers can be...(MT) denotes male teache, (FT) denotes female teacher...here goes...
offence: scolding vulgarities in class
MT: send student for public caning either in class or in front of whole school
FT: make student stand in front/outside of class n slap his cheeks for entire lesson
offence: toking in class
MT: throw duster at student or cane the student palm/knuckles
FT: make student stand in front/outside class n pull ears or seal student's mouth wif scotchtape
offence: student found walking ard classroom without permission
MT: canes student on the thighs
FT: make student walk up n down the classroom corridor for whole lesson
offence: sleeping during lesson
MT: canes student n make student stand for whole lesson
FT: doesnt cane student but instead make student pull ears n do half-squats or knee-bend/kneel at a corner n carry bag above head for entire lesson
my pt is tis: female teachers usually mete out punishments tat r more creative n shameful...they dun seem to like caning or hitting but choose other ways of punishing students...dun u guys agree? -

well i am nt the one being punished in most of the cases i cited...though i have been punished b4 in the past...but i seriously cun imagine myself going thru the kind of punishemnt meted out by my frend's former teacher...i tink no one can endure tat kind of pain n torture from her punishments...though it muz be said tat students were deterred greatly from repeating the offences after being punished so harshly once...

Why your school punishment so strict? I do alot of things like ponning school, open defiance n rudeness(to the vp somemore), not handing in homework, disrupting the class.. But all i got were a few lame demerits that would be wiped out after each term. Waaahaa!

tats nt my sch...its my frend's sch...actually my frend n i has reason to believe tat tis teacher was roped in to his sch to bring up the sch's discipline, which was terrible back then...
actually its rather hard to believe tat a pleasant looking n well-dressed teacher like her can mete out such punishments...oh well, nvr judge a bk by its cover... -
Btw, i think schools generally are more strict with male students than females.
Me, 1 female classmate, and some other male classmates kept talking n talking during lessons. We got warned but would ignore it. The nxt thing we knew, the DM was summoned and all the male classmates were caned in front of class!!
As for me and my female classmate, we got away scot-free. -
ha...well nt when tis teacher is concerned...if she catch u toking 1st time, she will make u kneel at back/front of class n pull ears for whole lesson...if u keep toking in class in future lessons, she will make u kneel n slap ur cheeks for whole lesson...she may even make u kneel on bottle caps...trust me, the pain from all these will deter u...

i juz came across an article online...there was tis falungong practitioner who was made to knee-bend at a corner for more than 2 hrs by her captors!man, tis is far worse than any punishments tat has been posted in tis thread...she shared her experience of how she was tortured...i cun imagine knee-bending for over 2 hrs...will try to post the link for all to read the next time...

hmmm......very good advice that you gave.......but I seriously wonder.......would you be doing it yourself, if presented with the opportunity?
It is easy to give "advice" or goad someone else to do it, afterall, the person who has to face up to the consequences of his/her actions won't be you. To advise someone else to push the teacher outta the window and cause the teacher serious injury like "sure break one" will surely land the pepertrator a heavy sentence and destroy his/her future.
So, before you advice anyone here to "push them through the glass windows, sure break one" may i suggest you go do it yourself first. Later on, come back here and tell us what happened to you and your future life....after your acts have appeared in the local papers/news, especially TNP.......heheheh!!

nt when the teacher in my very 1st post is concerned...i can guarantee she will nt let the students off if she hears vulgarities from their mouths...from the way she punished my frend, u can see the attitude she has towards vulgarities...she may even send the student for detention if the student remains unrepentant... -

Being a teacher is far worse than being a student.
its unfair. Teachers have to treat students with respect & dignity, but definately not the other way round.
Teachers are humans too, its a job afterall, just that this job has a far more greater sense of responsibility and contribution to society.
