More parents are filing Beyond Parental Control complaints against their kids - but are parents to blame?

When Linda walked into the Subordinate Courts with her parents a year ago, she thought they were simply passing by on their way to lunch.

ONE dad stalked his daughter and threatened her friend.
Another couple treated their kid like a football, kicking him from one relative to another.
Yet another parent told her young son point-blank - you don't deserve to be part of the family.
And another couple resorted to trickery to get their daughter to court.
Every week at the Juvenile Court, counsellors from the Singapore Children's Society see an average of 23 walk-in cases - up from 15 last year - involving parents who want their children deemed "beyond parental control".
But at least half of the complaints were by parents who push their kids over the edge...
