Anyone got any idea if i were to on n off the air con constantly say one 1 hr off 1 hr den on 1 hr will eat up more electricity as compared to juz leave it on ?

i dun think you can save very much but u'd spend more repairing, that i can be sure

Got to agree with de_middle on the part that you might incur more money which will be spent on maintenance of your aircon if you keep switching it off & back on constantly as it will wear the parts out much faster. Suggest you leave the aircon on but use it wisely so you can save much more

not logical.
you can try cooling your room down with the fan first. then on the aircon, set at 25. then off it in the middle of the night and on the fan again. -
use dry ice best.

At least you dun contribute much global warming by switching on the air con for long periods.

When you switch on an air con. there will be a sudden spike in the current used to start up motors in the aircon. THe current will only stabilise like after 3-5 mins of use.
But if you switch it on and off, your aircon will need to work harder to keep the room cool.
Whereas if your aircon is constantly on, the room temperatuer will be regulated easily, then the motor in the aircon can switch off or slow down (depending on your type of aircon) -
