Proud Job Agency Staff

Recently I just sent a few resumes to different companies and job agencies. I find especially some staff of job agencies very rude as if we need to beg them for the job we want just because they got the empowerment from their represented companies to find candidates for them. I was very courteous to them over the phone but yet they behaved this way. I was very disappointed. And jobsdb, jobstreet...etc are flooded with them. I think the way things are going is unhealthy. What do you think?

Here is one of my bad experiences with a particular job agency.
I applied for an engineering assistant job through an agency and one find afternoon they called me asking me to come to their company for interview the next day but I told him that I can't make it that day as I have to send my laptop for express servicing the next day but he said " You don't need to use a full day to send your laptop for repair right?" But the thing is that I am going from the West to East for my express servicing and obviously it will be taking one full day so I have no choice but to postpone my servicing of my laptop and went to their interview.
At first the agent was very friendly with me saying good things about his client and ask me to come for another interview with their client on the next working day but when it comes to an end of the interview when I told the agent that I would not be able to work full night shift his tone of speaking changed and told me that to wait for phone calls within 1 week.
Then for 3 occasions the agent tried to convince me to go for the interview but when I said that I cannot do full night shift they said they will contact me later and in the 4th time when they said it is negotigable I went for the interview at the company.
But when I went to the company I realised that they changed my position applied without my notification and somemore that job is not relevant to what I studies in poly. And when I went in for interview I told the interviewer that I can't work full night shift and prefer another position they ask me to wait for phone call for another interview but in the end they didn't call me and the agent did not pestering me thereafter. -
If there so many agencies posting jobs, it shows that they are a lot of jobs there but they are now our barriers to get our ideal jobs in the job market. I think this is a unhealthy sigh.Originally posted by dragg:the job market is tight.

Sometimes i feel they are wasting yr time asking you to go down for interviews with them when they had got yr resume. Might ask well call us to go down to potential job offers interviews than wasting our time going to their office for "some getting to know you better" interview..

i hate job interviews.
cannot stand the kind of silly and meaningless questions. -

and they will arrange interviews even though it does not meet employer's and candidate's expectations, just to make up number. -

If u are hardworking enough to look for a job urself, u wouldn't have gone tru all these problems. better still, get a frd or relative to intro u into their current company under a referal. chances of getting will be higher. -
i was asked to go Adecco for an interview
the job agent want to see me first in the morning before i go to the actual office at noon.
When i was there, got another girl just left. I didn't realise until i was the company that she was my 'rival'.
I was thinking, why send both of us from the same agency to there? If wan, also do it at different time lah. -
they always wana see u 1st thing in the morning cos they wan u to sign some contract with them to proof that u are under thier bond for a certain period. and if u quit within this period without proper notice, that is how they earn more money by sending u lawer letters.

why cant we fill in the form only after they offer employment?
you fill the form 5 times at 5 different companies. it is ok if you get the job, otherwise the whole cycle starts again. -

jobstreet literally flooded with job agencies
if u want to apply direct and no need see ppl face color, u shd go for the ads in the papers, especially Saturday -

but agencies like recruit express ask to fill up the same form for every single job, from year of graduation to description of all your previous jobs.
this shows poor centralization of data. -
wha lao a lot spamming some more the same job advertise for many columns say advertise need money but can still spam..i tink like free advertising leh no need money one

i know some staff are just rotten apple
but i dearly have some nice job agent staff fren who arent like that -
Ya proud & trying to ACT professional during interview...
Imagine If u are applying for non management positions, they can ask u questions like 'what do u see yourself in the next 3 to 5 years'
I dun mind if the interviewers are mature & have many years of working experience, at least they know why & what they are asking
