does lemon juice really work?

  for natural highlights?
  
  i read somewhere on a magazine that if you apply some lemon juice on your hair and go under the sun for about an hour or so, it shows up lighter than your original hair color which has no lemon juice.
  
  but does it really work?.. i don't want my head itching like a maggot infested sick fcuk..
  
  ummhmmm reason why i'm asking this is... i jus realised my mommy jus bought a ton of lemons. they're in the fridge.. so i guess i could make use of them ?

  aww.. if my hair has auburn highlights (only a teeny weeny bit) and a very dark brown base.. and i decide to dab my entire head with it.. think it'll show some results?

  u must add lettuces, celery, tomatoes and some bits of mango slices..

  try on a few strands lor~
  
  dip ur hand in lemon then apply on ur hair... dunno will work or not also..

  yah.. but i'm graduating soon! so those svckers can't do anything!
  
  my hair's already like dyed from day one too.
  
  but it's dark dark dark brown.. the highlighted parts i only did the bottom layers.
