My parents also say that.... even they don't know why.... they just keep telling me not to...
My theory: long-long ago in ancient times, we only have oil lamps and they are not that bright... We also got no nail clippers so we use sissors and knives... Dim lights + Sharp objects = Bad idea.... so they createa myth to not cut nails at night....
But nowa days, we have florecent lamps.... -

when i was younger my grandparents used to tell me that its because its darker at night and i might cut myself. and then blood flows quicker at night so if i cut myself by accident i will lose a lot of blood.
i stop believing this a long time ago. but when i cut my fingernails at night... i tend to be more careful haha dunno why. -
