Why Is Maple So Popular?

i play maple...now lvl 100
last time when one of my classmate played maple, i always scold him childish
then when i finally gt my internet access, felt bored tried the game and u know the rest of the story
now cannot play liao..have to study for Air lvl

during last yr dec holiday, i maple siao. daily routine is 2pm wake up, use comp awhile, 4-10 work. reach home 12-1 1-5 or 6 maple, then sleep then 2 wake up go work etc. vicious cycle. -

Most probably because free to play and when they level up they have a sense of achievement which they can't get in real life so they get it in cyber world.

Why kao pei maple so much? lets sit back and admire the brillance of the creator of maple being successfully able to make many ppl addicted to it and at the same time making money out of the game.

IMO, playing online or offline games is alrite for adults. Some play to relieve stress, some play to get their mind off vexing things. some play just to monitor their kids and so on. theres always a reason for them playing games.
But if a person is playing a free game, then he/she must understand the meaning of free, and not buy purchasing point reload cards spending $10 on it for some cash items. And frankly speaking, there is no such thing as a free online game. think about the internet bills ur have to pay for and the PUB bills u have to pay for. its alrdy making payments to play the game liao.
Overexccess of discussing about a certain game in ur daily life is quite a common sight in SG nowadays. Especially when the WCG makes it's appearence in SG, many kids and even adults have started to pick up gaming. SOme have even made it their career. Its just like last time, when gaming wasnt that popular, what will the adults and teenagers then be discussing about?? Girls, movies, food and the usual stuffs that we still do discuss about now. Gaming is just another new topic of discussion here.
I'm not a fan of maple btw, but i'm only stating these ponts to those of u who finds gaming for adults is bad, that actually gaming is for ppl of all ages, its only a matter if u like it or not. Just like some ppl like to play soccer, whereas others might think its stupid for 20 ppl trying to chase and kick the ball and the remainig 2 trying to catch the ball.
If u think a person can't possibly live off by just playing games, then u are quite wrong. Many adults for the past 5-8 yrs have started earning money by just playing online games, they play, they hunt and they sell their rare loots. Some experienced players are even invited to a certain company to work for them as a developer or game master where they can play at work. My frds have opened up a Lan shop and now, he's enjoying what he likes most which is gaming, and he still earns money.
So those of u guys who thinks gaming for adults is childish, pls think otherwise.

It's cute? I played it breifly while waiting for WoW but I just phase out while playing maple coz it's too easy and I can play it while lying on the bed
Yes it is free too in the sense that there is no monthly subcription fees nor do you have to buy the game
Honestly I rather buy Guildwars and play that since that has no subcription fees too. Just buy and play the game and you get much much much better graphics and gameplay -

maple at first quite fun quite cute. play long will sian. i lvl 103, nt addicted anymore, will play oni when whole day nothing to do.

Have u tried playing KhanOnline, FungWanOnline,RYL 1 & 2,TricksterOnline, Hero Online, Last Chaos, and RO.
The aboved mentioned except for RO, are all F2P games. I'll give u a brief discription on each of the games i've mentioned,
Khan Online : A good range of charecter classes with a good amount of skills, big maps to explore, PVP enabled game with a PK system.3D graphics. correct me if i'm wrong, maple doesnt have PVP system.
FungWan Online : Very stratigic gameplay on charecter development. 1 wrong move and ur charecter is goner. huge maps to explore, has wasd controls and point and click controls. has camera angles. super wide range of skills to learn, has skill chaining ability at high lvls. party lvl-ing is adviced during mid lvls of game. alot of rare items to be found.Game has Clan and guild system, where by 5 different clans will go head on with each other for at least 4 times in a week. clan wars in this game is damn fun where u really see huge amount of ppl defending their own clans or attacking other clan for their clan relic.
RYL 1 & 2 : more or less like FWO, only that it has a limited range of skills, but this game has a unique gameplay which is their attacking style, its fast compared to maple and u see numbers fly as u attack ur enemy. Has a good and fair PVP system whereby theres is no such thing as a perfect class. Guild war is enabled too.
Trickster Online : English version just came out recently, kind of like an RO rip off but still has a Wide range of charecter classes and class upgrds are available. Unique part of this game is, it has a drilling system, whereby u can drill to find pots or any other items. the better ur drill is, the better ur items gained. PK enabled too.
Hero Online : 5 classes to choose. 3D gfx. big maps to explore. tamable pets which takes part in battles. u can ride certain pets too. example a Dragon. game is set in the ancient chinese martial arts period. equip enhancements availble. PK enabled Guild war enabled.
Last Chaos : average range of classes. wide range of skills. huge maps to explore. equip enhancements. 3d gfx. PK enabled. Guild war enabled. unique features of personal dungeons.
RO A.K.A. : Ragnarok Online : Very good and advanced class enhancements. equip upgrds are available with a unique card slotting system to equips to enhance ur items. wide range of skills. different charecter developements for a same class. E.g. A Lord knight can be agi+crit or Dmg+Vit. theres always a differnt build for each class.
So pls compare these games with maple and u know how bad maple actually sux. -
The above mentioned games by me are just some of the games i USED to play. theres a whole lot more that i've played b4. If u are looking for a good game, theres always alot more games better than maple which are worth the time playing.

i do have an active outside life myself where i spend my time with my wife and frds. -
all i can say is to each his own...sux or not is up to each individual...if u think this game sux then dun play coz no one forced you to play...
